Return on your investment when investing in a swimming pool

Return on your investment when investing in a swimming pool

Dec, 13, 2014

In my last blog I said there are two misconceptions about owning a swimming pool that we, swimming pool builders, constantly battle. The first was the maintenance issues;  the second is the perception that a swimming pool does not add value to your real estate. That the money spent has no return.  Although this can be true the product that we recommend at Pool by Design defiantly adds value. It is more than just a purchase, it is an investment. It improves the value of your real estate. But, there are, like all other home improvements, rules which make a difference. The secret of a pool is to create an environment. A place that has year round appeal to you & your family but just important, it must have mass appeal. For children it must have a touch of magic, to create memories of being a kid. To parents, a place to relax & protect from the outside world.  A place of good family times, good times with friends, good food  & a touch of intimate romance when everyone else is absent.

Vacations are great, I love them. Being in a hotel on the beach surrounded by blue oceans & the kiss of the warm sun. Wonderful. But the getting up at 4:00 am to get to the airport. Waiting for 2 hours after you get through security, check your bags & bored kids. Shuffling onto the plane, hours in an uncomfortable seat. Your bag is always the last one onto the conveyer, if it arrives.  You all know the drill. Is there an alternative?  Can you get a return on that expense ?  One that can last for years ?

"Our house is French Country on two acres. We were adamant that the pool fit the house, complimenting it. I would have never thought of some of the aspects he put in the design, so I am happy that I chose to go with an experienced company."
